Greetings TB fam,
We have been praying for one another as we journeyed through this week. Some of us faced challenging moments which were spiritual, whilst others struggled in their journey with God. Therefore, Saturday has always been a day that we look forward to, to gather as a family to share our testimonies or struggles.
We started off the meeting quietening our hearts and coming before the Lord. We began praying with one another and shared our stories. As we prayed, one of us began sharing a vision of a garden with a waterfall in it, and spotted one of our sisters in it. He also shared a verse from Isaiah 58:11 to encourage her.
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Indeed our sister felt uplifted and touched by the love of God.
Brother A also began sharing how he had been praying that God would use him in his everyday life. Then on Tuesday last week, whilst on the MRT on the way to work, he felt led in his heart that someone nearby needed help. He started to look around the train and indeed spotted a lady in her 20s that needed help, looking pale and weak. He mustered the courage to go up to the person to ask if she was ok. He then went on to ask someone to give up their seat for her to rest. Eventually after a few stops, the girl had to alight and thanked brother A for the kind thoughts. We were all encouraged by how God responds to our prayers and could use us mightily in our everyday walk. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
We went on with our Bible reading and discussions on Jacob's dream, Jacob's journey from meeting Rachel to marrying Leah and Rachel, and learning about the birth of his children.
From the dream, we learnt that through this encounter, God became real and personal to Jacob. God was no longer just Abraham's or Isaac's God, but God became Jacob's God. Isn't it amazing that God made the same promises and blessings upon Jacob just as He had done so for Abraham and Isaac? We talked about what it means to have a personal and intimate relationship with God and how we too are positioned to receive such promises and blessings. We also reflected how God is unconditional in His covenant and yet mankind often responds with conditional vows just as Jacob did. We went on to digest which of Jacob's child came from which wife and discussed about how God's plan worked out despite all the unhealthy competition that went on within the human's will.
We ended off the night praying with one another and chatting over supper. The next day, Ps D&C went down to K's office to bless and cleanse the environment. We noticed the shift in the spiritual atmosphere and look forward to hearing updates from them in the coming week.
We thank God that as we journey together, we win spiritual battles as God's army.
Signing off,
