Week 11 (18 - 24 Sep): Reckless Obedience

Greetings TB family!

The week started off quiet and usual, little did I expect it to end on a high. We were blessed to have Ps Angela back with us on Friday and Saturday. She was our camp speaker at our inaugural church camp this year. Memories of camp flooded our minds as we welcomed her to speak to us once again.

Some of us from the leadership team spent Friday night with Ps Angela and her friend, Nic. It was our first time meeting Nic but she didn’t feel like a stranger to us at all. We had a wonderful session where we learnt about Jesus’ leadership and how we should be leading our day to day life. Two main things that I took away: 1) Jesus’ servanthood leadership and 2) living in the supernatural daily. Indeed, being a leader means serving others and being a Christian means being intentional, taking risks for God on a daily basis.

All of us received prophesies individually that night. Ps Angela and Nic spoke what God put into their hearts and touched each and every one of us. All of us left the meeting filled and overflowing with the Holy Spirit.

The next day, we were blessed to have Ps Angela and Nic back to speak to the congregation. We had many visitors from other churches wanting to hear from her. Nic, L, Z, F and A kicked off the session by releasing words of knowledge for and went off to pray for many to be healed. This scene reminded me of what Ps Angela spoke about the previous day - leaving a legacy behind by training up the next generation. Indeed we see the rising of the next generation - they followed our footsteps and imitated our actions, just like how we imitate Jesus. 1 Cor 11:1 - Paul wrote “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ”. For the rest of the session, Ps Angela taught about reckless obedience to God. Our willingness to recklessly obey God will bring rewards to us and the people around us.

Once again the session ended with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and many were filled.

2 youths shared their experiences below:

S - “It felt strange and awkward initially but I allowed it to happen. As D, L and F prayed for me, I felt overwhelmed and my legs felt weak. I fell over and just lay there paralysed. I soaked in the presence of the Holy Spirit and only regained my strength after a while. It was an amazing experience.”

Z - “This was the first time I released words of knowledge and I was super nervous, thinking what if I identified the symptoms wrongly. But it was amazing to see how right it was; it was the first experience for R and D too, as they felt the same pain and laid hands with me! It’s exciting to see how easily we can move in the spirit if we allow ourselves to be a vessel for God, to let His message flow from us to the person we are praying for, He rewards our obedience with more infilling of the spirit. It is unbelievably easy for us to reach God - He is always there, we just need to believe and allow Him to use us.”

We pray that many were touched that night and will bring this with them on their day to day lives, touching others around them. It’s a reminder to myself that God is real, God is here everyday and God wishes to have our companionship daily.

God bless everyone!

On behalf of the youth,

Guishan
