This year, the Talent Beacon youth embarked on the themes of Service and Community. These have truly been the heartbeat of our efforts.
Leading up to the youth camp in mid-December, we were looking for ways to serve the community. When we heard about the home makeover initiative, it was the perfect fit. In partnership with Colours, we are excited to transform the home of a local family in need, creating a safer, more comfortable space for them to live in. However, a project like this requires both time and financial resources, so we set our sights on the bake sale as a way to raise the funds we needed. Thus, Talbea Nibbles was born!
We are incredibly proud of the youth for being involved in every step of the process, and even leading different parts. Not only did they fulfil all 100+ orders, but they also met our fundraising goal! Every dollar that we have made will go to renovating the home of Uncle V and his wife, and we have been able to cover 100% of the home makeover costs for a deserving family. A big thank you to everyone who bought cookies — we hope you are enjoying them.

The journey to the bake sale was a true team effort. We started by carefully planning our marketing strategy, sourcing ingredients, and organising the logistics. The actual baking process, which spanned one and a half days, was a labour of love. Though tired by the end, our hearts were filled with gratitude as the orders kept pouring in, and we saw how God provided just what we needed to meet our goal. It was a beautiful reminder of how community, teamwork, and faith can come together to make something truly special happen. We look forward to the time of ministry with Uncle V and his wife during camp as we get our hands dirty to clean, pack and paint.
To prepare our hearts for the home makeover itself, we also sat down as a community to reflect on why we do what we do. This isn’t just about renovating a house—it’s about bringing light and hope into someone’s life. We’re eager to be a reflection of God’s love, and we pray that our work will not only improve the physical space but also bring a sense of warmth, peace, and encouragement to the family.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who supported our bake sale, whether by purchasing goods, spreading the word, or praying for us. Your support has made all the difference. As we continue working toward the youth camp and the home makeover, we look forward to the opportunity to serve and shine God’s light into our community in meaningful ways. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you again for being part of this amazing journey with us!
Signing off,
Zoe and Aunty Kwee Shan (for the youth :)
